Last week, a private New York firm
Election.com, facilitated the first ever online voting in a public election. Registered Democrats in Arizona were assigned PIN numbers, which were mailed to them back in February. Then anytime between Tuesday and Friday 10 March, they could log in and vote in Saturday's primary election. While last week's contest was the first legal online voting opportunity, Time Digital reports that in this November's general election, several states will experiment with allowing absentee voters to cast their ballots online.
